Tom Hanks Film Going to Be Sponsored By Abu Dhabi


Image Nation Abu Dhabi, a famous emirate’s film production house has announced that it will completely finance the upcoming American filmmaker James Ponsoldt’s movie “The Circle” which is also being co-produced by famous Hollywood star Tom Hanks. The film is based on Dave Egger’s novel of the same name of the film which will also be presented in association with Parkes MacDonald Productions.

The novel of Egger follows a story of a young woman who is working at a high position in an Internet company known as The Circle. The company links social media, banking details, personal emails of their users with their primary operating system. This amazing contemporary thriller novel emphasizes the threats of life in a digital age of today, where personal data of any individual is being constantly monitored and examined resulting in no privacy.

This movie is going to be the second collaboration of Hank’s with Eagers, as he has also starred in Eggers adaptation “A Hologram for the King”. “The Circle” movie is a fabulous modern era thriller that will shine a light on the role of the Internet and our new identities in the world of rising transparency and privacy issues, says the CEO of Abu Dhabi Image Nation, Michael Garin.

Moreover, this film will surely help us to continue the effort. The film’s international sales will be handled by IM Global, who will also represent the work done at this year’s Cannes Film Festival.


The shooting of the film “The Circle” will start in August 2015 in the beautiful city called California. It is also heard that Parkes Macdonald Productions and Image Nation has also partnered on the upcoming documentary film called “He Named Me Malala”. This documentary will portray Malala Yousafzai life, who was wounded by the Taliban when they opened fire on her school bus in Pakistan.
